Goethe-Zertifikat A1 (Start German 1) Exam Schedule
The official list below outlines the time slots that are reserved - not exams that have been confirmed. Check with your instructor whether or not your course will be taking its final exam during this time.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Check out the individual exam pages for additional guidelines, conditions and guidelines and exam information. If you require special accommodations because of chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment or other limitations Contact the exam provider and provide detailed documents when you register.
Faculty can view their exam times via the "View My Teaching Schedule" task on the Faculty Dashboard in Workday. In addition, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for courses where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes that are held in the evenings are scheduled for the regular class time of the final exams.
Please take note that the Projected University Examination Schedule is intended as a rough guideline and that the dates for the final exam are subject to change.
Registration
Students are encouraged to look up the exam schedule online. However it is crucial to note that the exam schedule may be altered at any time. Therefore, students should consult with their instructors to confirm that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also make certain to print the official list and bring it with them to their exams.
Students must also familiarize themselves with the guidelines and conditions of the exam in addition to the schedule. They are available on the page for each exam. Students acknowledge having read and agreed to the terms and conditions of registration.
Exam locations try their best to accommodate participants who have special requirements. The nature and severity of these requirements must be noted on the registration form and verified by an attestation from a doctor. In addition the locations for the exam must respect confidentiality and be maintained.
If students are scheduled to take three tests on the same day, they should contact their instructor or department to schedule a make-up test. It is possible to have three examinations on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and can affect the quality of the exam. The professor might not be able give an additional test to make up for the missed day.
Before taking the exam Students must prepare for the exam by studying their course material and practice their German skills. The test is a test on paper that assesses the ability to speak, read and write in German. The exam results are presented on a scale from A1 to C2. Students who successfully pass the test receive a Goethe-Zertifikat. The certificate documents that they have achieved the level of A1 in their language. This level corresponds with the first level of the six-level scale of competence laid out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The test is free. Fees
You must pay an exam fee if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the cost of the course.
Practice assessments allow you to get an understanding of the style of the questions, their wording, and the difficulty of the questions on the test. They help you evaluate your proficiency, identify gaps in your knowledge and increase your chances of passing the test.
Please note that the exam fee is not refundable. Exam results can only be emailed and not via telephone.
